Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission serves as the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO)
It is the responsibility of the SHPO to prepare and implement a comprehensive statewide historic preservation plan. As last revision of the statewide historic preservation plan was in 2006 and the current plan expires in 2011, help in the planning process as they prepare and implement a preservation plan for 2012-2017.
As part of that planning process they are seeking public participation in accessing what the citizens of Pennsylvania value in their community in order to determine preservation priorities within the state. Won't you please take a few minutes to participate in this survey for feedback in that development plan. Survey time is approximaximately 5-10 minutes and will provide valuable insights to better address Pensylvania' prservation needs. Information is only a collection of date, no personal information with any third parties.

Mont Alto Historical Society was founded in October 2006. It started with five members. At the present time it has approximately 25 to 30 members and friends of the Society. The meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of each month at the Mont Alto Borough Office, 3 N Main Street. Membership fees are listed below.
Some of the yearly events held are the Homecoming Picnic in June, the Veterans Day observance in November and the Tree Lighting Celebration in December.

Officers are elected in December each year at the Society Christmas Party. New members and friends are always welcome.
